How do you conduct a UX audit?

First, we will analyse the information you provide. This includes customer, market and competitor mapping. We then create an audit scenario and follow it. Our goal is to put ourselves in the customer's shoes and uncover the obstacles they face. For the audit itself, we use, among other techniques and tools, 2 methodologies in particular: heuristic evaluation and cognitive walkthrough.

  • Heuristic evaluation involves comparing your website or application against a set of best practices and guidelines. During the evaluation, multiple factors are compared, such as whether the customer has all the information they need, whether they have the ability to handle errors effectively, and so on.
  • In a cognitive walkthrough, the expert who conducts the UX audit (review) puts themselves in the shoes of your customer and walks through your website or app, just like your target customers, according to a predetermined scenario. For maximum effect, you need to know who your customer is and how they behave. This makes it possible to detect many errors from the customer's perspective.
Why is the price set per user flow and not per specific page?

Some companies offer auditing for specific screens. However, we have not found this to be successful in practice. With our customers, we have achieved significantly better results if we focus on specific user flows or journeys. This is because your customer also has a specific goal (user journey) on your website or app - for example, to purchase goods. Therefore, you need to consider the entire journey in a broader context.

What if I have further questions about the findings delivered?

You can easily ask any number of follow-up questions for each audit up to 15 days after delivery. Questions can be asked in the form of comments directly on the submitted PDF document. Instructions can be found directly in the supplied audit document.

We have in-house designers, why shouldn't they do the audit?

The review is all about an independent view. Your designers will undoubtedly do a great job, but there is no substitute for an unbiased outside perspective. In particular, it's not appropriate when the same team that designed the product is doing the review.
